Former MEGADETH Guitarist Resurfaces In Flamenco-Inspired Band
October 27, 2002Former MEGADETH guitarist Jeff Young recently collaborated with Brazilian artist Badi Assad (sister of the famed Assad Brothers) on a full-length CD entitled "Nowhere", now available via Badi's own WaterSongs Music label.
Young, who had previously contributed to Assad's 1998 release, "Chameleon", reportedly draws from a more diverse list of influences for his latest venture, which "includes masterful artists from all over the world playing solely natural acoustic instruments," according to a press release. "The classical and flamenco guitar stylings of Badi & Jeff along with Badi's brilliant vocal work are said to have brought revitalizing change to the world of Brazilian music."

"Nowhere" was entirely self-financed and features guest appearances by a diverse cast of internationally renowned musicians, including bassist Tony Franklin (JIMMY PAGE, THE FIRM, BLUE MURDER) and drummer Matt Chamberlain (TORI AMOS, FIONA APPLE, DAVID BOWIE). The CD was mixed at WireWorld production studio just outside of Nashville by Michael Wagener, who had previously worked with JANET JACKSON, OZZY OSBOURNE, SKID ROW, QUEEN, and EXTREME, among others.
